“In the beginning I was so young and such a stranger to myself I hardly existed. I had to go out into the world and see it and hear it and react to it, before I knew at all who I was, what I was, what I wanted to be.”

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Amy, a daydreamer and storyteller based in Yorkshire. I write contemporary fiction about women, the things they endure and the things they overcome—often with a healthy dose of romance thrown in along the way.

A lifelong lover of books and avid collector of stories, I am deeply interested in the human condition, the search for purpose and the meaning we can create. If you have ever spent any time with me, you’ll know that it can get real deep, real fast!

Despite spending much of my life getting lost in the artwork of others, my own creativity got mislaid somewhere along the way. After bouncing from academia to corporate to yoga teaching, I finally—in my early thirties—rediscovered my passion for storytelling and my debut novel, All The Things I Wasn’t, was born.

When I’m not reading or writing, I can mostly be found exploring the Yorkshire countryside, planning my next adventure or laying in front of the fire with a cup of tea and my seven year old Labrador, Buddy.
